Why are the snow piles not removed from the property?
Snow is piled in certain areas knows as snow emergency areas. These areas are designated as no parking areas. During a recent storm (January 2022) numerous cars were parked in the snow emergency areas. This caused a need to use other non-snow emergency areas for snow piles. Some residents asked why the snow could not be removed from the premises? Removal of the snow from the premises is complicated and very expensive. First, a suitable location must be found. There is no such location on the Hilltop property, large trucks need to be hired due to the volume of snow, and then personnel is needed to load the trucks with equipment. Removal of the snow piles, for even a small storm, would cost more than ten thousand dollars.
How much does it cost to clean the snow at Hilltop and who pays?
The annual snow removal budget is approximately $280,000. The actual cost for the 2021 winter was over $350,000. The Master Association pays for snow removal.
