When is Garbage and Recyclables picked up?
The Town of Cedar Grove picks up our garbage every Wednesday and Saturday morning. It is our resident’s responsibility to purchase a garbage can that can be used to contain your trash. The town also offers a bulk pick service for larger items that need to be thrown away. If you need to arrange a pickup, please contact the Town of Cedar Grove at (973) 239-1410 X 240 on Tuesday, no later than 11am, leave your name address and phone number, and what you need to have picked up. Lastly please be respectful of neighbors and bring your cans in in a timely fashion.
Recyclables
Cardboard, Paper, and Plastic will be picked up every Tuesday morning. The schedule is consistent and will alternate between carboard and plastics weekly. Since we seem to have a bit of wind in Hilltop, we ask that all items are either ties or placed in bags as seen below. You may subscribe to an app called “Remyndr” which will send you weekly updates reminders of what type recyclable
Cardboard boxes and paper should put to the curb in a manner that will prevent them from blowing away. We suggest flattening the material and either,
Tie or tape all carboard together
Cut and flatten larger boxes down
Store them tightly in a recycling pail
Store them tightly in one larger box in such a manner that they will not be blown around
Metal/Glass/Plastic: must be put out in tied CLEAR plastic bags, and then in a recycling container in such a manner to keep them from being blown away.
