Pool Info

This information is being shared by the Master Board with permission.

As most of you know, 2021 was the first year that our community was able to open our pool after Governor Murphy’s signing of the temporary Covid Tort Immunity Bill. The Bill was something that he was reluctant to sign, and as stated above, was only valid through 1/1/2022.

For the 2021 season, when it became apparent the pool would be able to be opened because of the NJ Covid bill, the Association requested bids from seventeen different pool companies to provide lifeguards, servicing, and a pool ambassador.  Of those seventeen, only one company bid to take on our community. Largely this was due to labor shortages at the time, a lack of life-guards, a rush of communities to obtain pool management contracts, and companies reserving their limited staff for communities they had worked with in previous years. This left Hilltop with one option, Adamas. They got the job done, however not without issues.

The Master Board expects to be able to open our pool facilities for the 2022 season, improving operations with the experience and feedback received last year.  While the details are not set in stone just yet, Hilltop has a tentative commitment from a highly regarded pool company used in the past by Robbin.  A few anticipated highlights:

o   Expecting to add a few “late-night Swims”

o   Expecting to add a time for adults only swims.

o   Looking into potentially adjusting the hours from last year dependent on cost.

▪   Longer hours = lifeguard shift changes.

We are told to expect the pool to be open beginning on Memorial Day weekend, and weekends only until the school years is done at which time the pool will be open seven days a week until Labor Day.

Expect some changes to the Pool rules based on the operating experiences of last year.  The community will be notified via Townsq as soon as further information is available.
